Jennifer Garcia is the Chief Deputy District Attorney at the Office of the District Attorney. Having been a prosecutor for over 20 years, she has tried more than 85 jury trials to verdict. She spent most of her career prosecuting Sexual Assault and Child Abuse cases, as well as spending time in the Gang Unit and ultimately, the Homicide Unit.
She has tried 15 homicide cases - including 3 death penalty cases. Most recently, Jennifer heads the Collaborative Courts Unit – which focuses on mental health and rehabilitation programs. She spearheaded the creation of Riverside County’s first rehabilitative countywide homeless court, which has seen great success upon its implementation. She currently also oversees the Administrative Unit of the office. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration from San Diego State University and Juris Doctorate degree in law from Santa Clara University School of Law.
Jennifer is married to a husband in law enforcement and has two teenage sons. In her spare time, she is an avid runner and enjoys traveling, camping with her two dogs.
